Best of the Best Award Results
DSG & Federal Signal Take Overall Awards
The 2008 TED Magazine “Best of the Best” marketing awards were presented at a dinner hosted by the magazine during the NAED AdVenture Sales & Marketing Conference in Chicago on August 12. More than 150 industry professionals were on hand to take part in the recognition of the best electrical marketing campaigns fielded in 2007. A record 448 entries were received this year, all of which were on display at the meeting.

Categories are split by sales volume, to ensure that competition is fair and occurs between like-sized firms.
Distributors and suppliers alike are invited to submit entries in the following categories:
- Brand Awareness
- Digital Campaign
- Direct Promotion

- Literature/Selling Tools
- Integrated Promotional Campaign
- Merchandising
- Print Campaign
- Product Launch
- Public Relations
- Publications
- Websites

Of the 43 separate category awards presented, only two—one distributor and one supplier—were selected to represent this year’s overall best marketing practices in the electrical distribution industry. Distributor Dakota Supply Group (Fargo, N.D.) received the “Best of the Best Overall” distributor award, and Federal Signal/Industrial Systems (University Park, Ill.) took the "Best of the Best Overall” supplier award.

In the Distributors $25-$200 Million category, Dakota Supply Group also received a “Best of the Best” award for its entry in the Brand Awareness category. In the Manufacturer Under $250 Million category, Federal Signal also received two “Best of the Best” awards for its entries in the Intergrated Promotional Campaign and Product Launch categories.
