Tom Cloud and more—Thomas Cloud has retired as CEO of United
Electric Supply, New Castle, Del.—after 36 years with the company, a period
during which he also served NAED, rising to become the association’s chair
for a one-year term beginning in 2003. |
United’s press release noted that “Tom was instrumental in guiding the employee
purchase of the company from the former owner and establishing the company’s
ESOP in 1995.”
Cloud continues to serve as the company’s board chair. Also at United:

George Vorwick Jr. is CEO—George Vorwick Jr., who has
30 years of electrical distribution industry experience (and has been
with United since 2000), is now CEO. In his career, he has been a branch
manager, sales manager, and regional vice president of sales. His experience
has come working in the DC-MD-VA (specifically, northern Virginia) area.

Richard (Dick) Ramsey retires—the former owner of Tri-County
Electric (which he sold to United in 1981), Ramsey was a vice president of
United Electric Supply and served on the company’s board from 1996 to 2008.
William (Bill) Horne retires—most recently, he was corporate
product manager and merchandising manager for electromechanical products.
Horne worked for United Electric Supply for 39 years. He served on the company’s
board from 1996 to 2008.
Moves, Adds & Changes
COOPER INDUSTRIES MAKES CHANGES—
- Mark Eubanks—he joined the company in 2006; he’s been appointed vice
president/general manager of Cooper Lighting.
- Terry Klebe—he’s the senior vice president and CFO and will retire
later this year. He joined the company in 1995 and was promoted to CFO in
2002.
- Gary Masse—he was president of Cooper Tools; he’s leaving “to explore
other opportunities,” the company said.
- Neil Schrimsher—he’s now the executive vice president for Cooper
Connection, overseeing B-Line, Bussmann, Lighting, and Wiring Devices. Additionally,
Cooper said that Schrimsher—who joined the company in 2006—will remain president
of Cooper Lighting. Earlier, he spent five years with Siemens and 17 with
GE.
- Laura Ulz—she’s the new president of Cooper Tools (she joined the
company in 2007 as vice president of operations). Earlier, she worked for
Honeywell and Texas Instruments.
FROMM’S FIVE MOVES & HIRES—
- Kirk Ericsson—with Fromm (Reading, Pa.) for the past 10 years (previously
was vice president of sales), he now is vice president of market diagnostics.
- Jon Gerhart—promoted to vice president of sales, he previously managed
Fromm Electric Supply’s residential business. His background includes 17-plus
years of construction and engineering experience.
- Tom Herron—has been hired as manager of the Energy Solutions division.
He has 30 years of electrical industry experience (primarily in energy services)
and holds the Certified Energy Manager certification.
- Theresa Partington—she’s spent 14 years in the electrical industry,
gaining expertise in commercial lighting; she has now hired on as a lighting
specialist in Fromm’s Energy Solutions division.
- Todd Rutledge—with 25 years of electrical industry experience, he
was recently hired as director of Fromm’s commercial construction sales department.
