BICSI’s president—it’s Brian Hansen, RCDD, a specification sales
engineer for Leviton Network Solutions (in the North Central region). He’s been
in the biz for more than 23 years and will serve as president of the organization
until Jan. 12.
Installers of the Year—nine men were honored with Installer of
the Year honors during BICSI’s winter conference, including:
- first place ITS Installer 1—James Sundy, Staley (Little Rock, Ark.)
- first place ITS Installer 2—Jeffrey Johnson, Staley (Little Rock,
Ark.)…(note, not a mistake!)
- first place, ITS installer 3—Jesse Spearman, Vision Technologies
(Ranson, W.Va.).

One of the directors—Legrand/Ortronics issued
a release noting that Brian Ensign, RCDD, NTS, OSP, CSI, was re-elected
as Northeast Regional Director of BICSI. He’ll serve a second term (2010-11).

TR-42 group—the TR-42 Telecommunications Cabling
Systems engineering committee held leadership elections in November. The member
organization, the Telecommunications Industry Organization, provided election
results here. Of note:
- Paul Kish of Belden was elected chair of TR-42.5, Telecommunications
Infrastructure Terms & Symbols.
- Valerie Maguire, global sales engineer for Siemon, was elected to
a fifth consecutive term on TR-42.7, the Copper Cabling Systems Subcommittee
(a company release alerted TedMag to that development).
Moves, Adds, & Switches
AETI ADDS TWO—Marcelo Garcia and Dean Swift have joined
American Electric Technologies. Garcia is manager of the High Voltage Services
group in Houston; he had been sales and operations manager in that city for
Electrical Power Systems. Swift will be manager for Beaumont Services; he had
been with Coastal Switchgear.
EATON FILLS NEW SLOTS—

When the newly formed Electrical Components Organization at Eaton needed
a new president, the company put Richard Holder in the position.
He came to the company in 2001 as vice president of supply chain and operational
excellence in the Electrical Group (after serving at US Airways and Allied
Signal). Most recently, he was executive vice president for Eaton Business
System. Note: The ECO combines the industrial controls, residential products,
and low-voltage and medium-voltage circuit breakers divisions. |

Recently, Eaton created a new position: Segment director—U.S. government.
On March 1, Kenneth Narod will take the job, working with people
in Eaton’s electrical, hydraulics, and vehicle businesses “to develop a
coordinated approach to growing sales with the U.S. government.” Narod has
been with the company for 31 years; until March, he fills the slot of vice
president-channel for the Electrical Sector’s Americas Region. |
ENCELIUM HIRES PARADISO—Anthony Paradiso has been hired as director
of sales (Mid-Atlantic) for Encelium Technologies. He moved over from Professional
Electric Products, a distributor, where he was director of sales and marketing.

| HALCO’S NEW HIRES—Halco Lighting Technologies
has added Steve Syers (senior sales manager for
customer support) and Jan McQuain (national accounts manager).
Syers had been president of Franchise Gator; then the company was sold.
McQuain has obtained several certifications, including TQC Certification
for ISO-9001. |
INTERMATIC’S THREE PROMOTIONS—
- Rick Boutilier is now president/CEO at Intermatic; he came to work
there (as CFO) in 2004. He was promoted to COO in 2008.
- Gary Koetters is now vice president of sales. He, too, joined in
2004; most recently, he was director of industrial and retail sales.
- Deb Peterson is now vice president of marketing and product development.
She joined Intermatic in 2007 (coming over from Motient, where she had been
senior vice president).

| KNIPEX RECRUITS TWO—Randall Booth and Julie
Jozwik have joined KNIPEX-Tools. Booth, now a sales manager, had been
with Minerallac; he previously worked at Bosch Tools, AEG Power Tools, and
Hughes Supply. Jozwik left the mobile devices division of Motorola to work
at KNIPEX’s sales and marketing operation, an assignment that the company
said includes developing “social media plans and platforms.” |

LEGRAND/P&S ELEVATES BAUSCH—Scott Bausch is now director
of product marketing for Legrand/Pass & Seymour. He joined the company
in 2004 as product line manager; most recently, he was marketing manager
for commercial and industrial products. |
M.K. MORSE MAKES MOVES—
- Now serving as vice president of national accounts at M.K. Morse is Lawrence
(Chip) Tomlinson, who has been with the company for 10-plus years (in
sales and marketing).
- Philip Metz has been hired on at Morse as industrial division sales
director for Europe, Asia, and Australia. He brings “extensive” international
sales experience with him.
- Also on an international tack, Carl Sparwer, who hired on in April
2008 as regional manager for Europe, is now the commercial division sales
manager for the international business unit at Morse.

RITTAL’S NEW PRESIDENT—Ken Fairleigh, who worked previously
at Fluke, GE, and Square D, has joined Rittal to serve as president. |
SIEMENS NAMES U.S. PRESIDENT/CEO—Eric Spiegel, previously a senior
partner at Booz & Company consulting firm, is now president and CEO of Siemens’
U.S. operations. He comes with 25 years of experience in the energy, manufacturing,
utility, and healthcare industries.
WESTERN FORGE’S NEW GM—Randy Thompson, a 22-year veteran at IDEAL
Industries, has been named general manager for Western Forge (a company IDEAL
just acquired).
