Transcat Inc., a national distributor of "professional-grade handheld test and measurement instruments"—an area in which it competes with electrical distributors—had net revenue of $28.5 million, up 19.2% year-over-year, in its fiscal Q3 that ended Dec. 24, 2011.
In January 2011, Transcat acquired Wind Turbine Tools. In its financial release, the company said, "Wind energy customers accounted for 8.6% and 4.7% of Product segment net sales in the third quarters of fiscal 2012 and 2011, respectively."
In the fiscal year's first nine months, Transcat's net revenue of $79.2 million was up 21.1% from the nine-month FY2011 net.
