Associations and Shows: Green and Lighting
BICSI and green rating system: BICSI is a founding
member of the Sustainable Technology Environments Program (STEP).
Chamber of Commerce and sustainability: The Business Civic
Leadership Center of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce called for nominations for the 2012 Siemens
Sustainable Community Awards.
Hong Kong International Lighting Fair: The “autumn edition”
of this trade show set a new exhibitor record with more than 2,100 exhibitors,
according to a news release. The event took place in late October and drew “exhibitors
from the Cayman Islands, Finland, and Sweden…for the first time.”
The LED Show: Pennwell Corp. has
acquired The LED Show and plans to hold the event July 30-Aug. 1 in Las Vegas,
according to ledsmagazine.com.
Lighting associations merge in UK: According to an
article on ledsmagazine.com,
“Members of the UK’s Lighting Industry Federation and Lighting Association have
agreed to merge the two organizations.”
Massachusetts is more efficient than California, according to the
American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy in the fifth edition of its ACEEE State Energy

Milwaukee school wins NECA green
challenge: The Milwaukee School of Engineering, for the second year in a
row, took the top prize at the third annual Green Energy
Challenge, a contest conducted among NECA’s student chapters (sponsored by
NECA and Electri International).
The Ohio Energy
Solutions Summit took place on the Sept. 30 and was sponsored by the
local NECA and IBEW units.
