About the Best of the Best Competition
Mission
tED magazine's Best of the Best awards program honors marketing excellence and recognizes creativity within the electrical industry in companies of all sizes in 12 marketing/communication categories. The success of a marketing program is often difficult to measure in tangible terms; therefore the awards program provides winners with the opportunity to show that their work is highly regarded within their own industry. In addition, over the years, the program has become a way to benchmark a company's efforts against those of its peers.

The 2011 tED magazine “Best of the Best” marketing awards were presented at a reception hosted by the magazine during the NAED AdVenture Electrical Marketing Conference in Chicago on August 15. The awards recognize the best electrical marketing campaigns fielded in 2010.
The 2011 Best of the Best Marketing Awards Competition marked a departure from the norm: For the first time in the competition’s 42-year history, all entries were submitted digitally. No longer were entrants required to staple, paste, and glue marketing materials to poster board and print out duplicate copies of entry forms and statements of purpose before packing and shipping the entries off to tED’s St. Louis headquarters. It was a big change—but one that resulted in a speedier, greener, and more streamlined entry process.
During June, four judges gathered to review the entries that were submitted in the contest’s 12 categories. When the dust settled, 47 entries were determined winners, and two companies walked away with Overall Best of the Best honors: Warshauer Electric Supply received the “Best of the Best Overall” distributor award, and Madison Electric Products took the “Best of the Best Overall” manufacturer award.
